This policy explains what personal information Heritage Construction Group Limited (“Heritage Construction”, “we”, “us”) collects when you contact us, ask for a quote or become a customer, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

What we collect

  • Contact details — your name, email address, phone number and the address of the property.
  • Details of your enquiry — the work you are interested in, messages you send us, photos, drawings or plans you share, and notes from site visits.
  • Job and account records — estimates, contracts, payment schedules, invoices and payments.
  • Messages and calls — emails, WhatsApp messages and text messages between you and us, and summaries of phone calls taken by our call-answering service.

Where it comes from

Mostly from you: through the contact form or chat on this website, by email, by WhatsApp, or by phone. We also receive enquiries passed to us by services you may have used to find us, such as Checkatrade and Google.

How we use it, and our lawful basis

  • To answer your enquiry, visit, quote and carry out the work — because you asked us to, and to enter into and perform a contract with you.
  • To follow up on a quote we have sent you — in our legitimate interest in running the business. You can ask us to stop at any time and we will.
  • To keep accounts, tax and building records — because the law requires it.
  • To keep one accurate record per customer, so you are not asked for the same details twice and we do not contact you about something you have already dealt with — in our legitimate interest.

We do not sell your information and we do not use it for advertising. We do not make decisions about you that have legal or similarly significant effects by automated means alone; software helps us sort incoming messages, but a person deals with every enquiry.

Who we share it with

Only with those who help us run the business, and only what they need:

  • providers of our email, website hosting, messaging (including WhatsApp, provided by Meta), call-answering and website chat (Cyber Staff), and the software we use to manage enquiries and jobs;
  • subcontractors and suppliers working on your job, where they need your address or contact details;
  • our accountants and professional advisers;
  • authorities, where the law requires it.

Some of these providers may process information outside the UK. Where they do, we rely on the protections UK law requires, such as UK adequacy regulations or the UK International Data Transfer Agreement or Addendum.

How long we keep it

  • Enquiries that do not go ahead: up to 2 years from your last contact with us.
  • Customers: for 6 years after the job is finished, for tax, accounting and contract purposes; longer only where a warranty or legal claim requires it.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, delete it or restrict how we use it, object to how we use it, or ask for it to be passed to you or someone else. Email info@thcgl.com. We will reply within one month.

If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint, 0303 123 1113.

Cookies

This website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. The website chat, provided by Cyber Staff, may store a small amount of information in your browser so that a conversation can continue from page to page. Links to our social media pages take you to those platforms, whose own privacy policies apply.
